With the hope that everyone had a great holiday season,
it is time to get back to the work of the R.C. and Units. This message
is really a reminder of several things which need to be done before
we plan to close up for the season.
February NYSUT programs
On February 22, 2008, the N.Y.S.U.T. sponsored programs on Identity
Theft and Wills,Trusts etc. will be held in Fort Lauderdale. Please
respond quickly to the flyer which will be mailed from Headquarters.
We hope to have a large attendance to encourage NYSUT to continue
these types of activities for us.
TRIF elections
All units should have Nominating Committees working on electing
officers for the next two year term (2008-10). Any TRIF member is
eligible to serve as an officer of the Unit. However, the Delegate
and Alternate Delegate to the RC 43 Annual Conference must be a
member of RC 43 (must have transferred from an RC in New York to
RC 43). Unit elections are held in March and all election results
need to reach me (Tina) by April 30, 2008.
R.C. 43 elections will occur later this year. Any individual who
is a member of R.C. 43 ( transferred from an R.C. in New York) is
eligible to serve. A letter of intent to serve for President, Vice
President, Secretary, or Treasurer must be sent by June 30, 2008
to:
Jack Fernandez
43216 Camino Madera
Sarasota, Fl., 34231.
If more than one person opts to serve a position, an official ballot
will be mailed to all members for a vote. If there are no contests,
the individuals will be declared elected and no ballots will be
mailed.
Have a great spring series of meetings and remember to vote in
the January Primary and to work for your candidates during the elections
in the fall.
